This book made me so MAD. I hated it every moment I was reading it. I get frustrated now just thinking about it. All of the compromises in the relationship were made by the woman. I understand that a lot of that was because it was about sticking to what you believe and everything, but she made every change, and he didn't have to do anything. And to top it off, he wasn't overly sympathetic when she had a hard time making the changes, he basically told her that she needed to stop whining.
I wasn't overly impressed with the books earlier in the series, but after I read this one, I wouldn't read the last one.

Interesting reading about a woman who falls in love with an Amish man and decides to become Amish and marry him. I don't see this happening in real life but the struggles she goes through really make you take stock of what's important in your life.

I found the plot of this story to be unbelievable - hard to think it would happen. Ms Brunstetter tells a good story but really not likely to happen.

Never much of a churchgoer, Laura has no real concept of God's love or the need to attend church. Eli, a baptized member of the Amish; church, is enamored with Laura, as well. However, the rules of his church forbid him to marry outside the faith, and he knows that should he decide to leave, he will face a shunning.
Is it good for two people-one plain, and the other fancy to fall in love? Will Laura and Eli find a way to be together?
Another great book worth reading.

I enjoyed reading this series but did find it lacking. It is not nearly as good as some of her other books.
couldn't finish the book, I found the conversation too elementary. The story has great potential but the writing didn't work for me.

enjoyable.......

I used to love the books by ms. Brustetter. But I guess when you are churning them out by the dozens, you lose track of what makes a good story.
I just didn't care about any of these characters! You don't get to really Know them, and Nothing really happens.
Books are for escaping our lives, growing a little and maybe learning something- this book was so sugar powder coated, I couldn't wait to be done so I could recycle it.
