This book is unique in my reading experience, I've never come across anything quite like it.

It has a section on each of the planets (including Pluto which was still a planet at the time). Each section consists of an essay by a scientist, a science fiction story by one of the giants of the genre (naturally Bradbury writes about Mars), and some beautiful illustrations of the planet and the story.

The book was published in 1985, so some of the scientific information is a bit out of date, but it's still interesting and the writing is never dull and academic.

I really enjoyed the book and think that anyone who enjoys science fiction will, as well.
