Rhinoceros is an exceptional play, a drama classic. The story of a world in which everyone is turning into rhinoceroses and a man's struggle to remain a nonconformist and be true to himself was originally a satire on the Nazis but is just as relevant now when one lives in a society in which conformity is buying the pablum of consumerism, worshipping the god of money, and adapting and adapt the Bushie's "you're with us or against us" simplistic and aggressive approach to the vulnerable both within and outside the U.S. One way or another, the play can be read as just a story, or one can reflect considerably on its message....The last ten pages are particularly brilliant and must be read aloud or seen in performance!
