  For My Husband. 03/27/04

I am given this task
to write a poem.
I look at this blank paper
that shouldn’t be blank.
The words will come, you say
but I have a doubting heart.
So I think.
And I try to form the thoughts
but they elude me.

Now I look down,
the paper is no longer blank
and I am amazed with myself.
The words have come to me.
I have written a poem
of how I cannot.

I've felt just like that many times when I would sit down to write a poem. I've only written 2 poems. The first about my Mom and the second about my husband. I enjoyed yours very much.

This is great! So genuine and without saying anything you said so much. I enjoyed reading it.
