All of Regency England whispered about the poet, Lord Byron, for no gentleman was more dashing or more daring. And everyone had heard the legend - his touch would lead a lady to folly...
When Lady Alison Amesbury seized the chance to brush against the famous poet Byron at a scandalous masquerade, she thought it would bring her delicious adventure. But what it brought was the most exasperating man - elegant Lord Richfield, bronzed by the sun of India and a byword for arrogance among the beau monde - who could not, it seemed, decide between pursuing and insulting her.
Yet Richfield's stormy kiss - so different form the attentions of her usual beaux - kindled in Allison an undeniable passion, further inflamed by his intriguing history. Hearing of his quest to discover the truth of his father's mysterious death, the lively young miss offered her aid. Little did she dream herself a pawn in a vengeful scheme, where amour and assignation could spell a bold threat to her person and the most exquisite peril to her heart.

I don't usually get books like this (small, Harlequin-type books). But I got it in a swap, so I read it over my lunch hour. It's a good book for those times when you don't have the time or inclination to devote a lot to the story.
