The story line is two-fold, and at first glance extremely interesting. We find married FBI agents Savich and Sherlock involved in a case of kidnapping and murder, the victim being a stand-up comic at a club Savich is involved with. The two kidnappers, an old man and his equally young side-kick, seem to be engaged in a personal vendetta against Dillon Savich, and have targeted Lacey Sherlock as one of their next victims.

Meanwhile, Special Agent Ruth Warnecki is treasure-hunting in a cave in Virginia , and stumbles upon something that frightens her enough that she ends up left for dead in the woods, with no memory of who she is or what she was doing. She's found by Dix, the local Sheriff, and although physically in good condition, she seems to have temporary amnesia.

POINT BLANK is definitely a quick read, and the story lines are interesting. But there were too many things that irritated me to let me enjoy the book the way I wanted to. For one, Ruth's amnesia--she went from not knowing who she was, what she did for a living, or what she was doing in Virginia to seeing Savich and Sherlock and "miraculously" having everything come back to her in about two minutes. Second, I have to agree with the reviewer who said the dialogue in the book was "stiff." There were instances during my reading that I knew I should be laughing or at least chuckling, but it didn't happen. The way the sentences were worded, and the dry words used in everyone's conversations, left me with the feeling that something essential was missing from the story.

Overall, POINT BLANK isn't the best Savich and Sherlock story, but it won't stop me from reading Ms. Coulter's next release. As long as you know in advance that you're not getting ready to read Ms. Coulter's best work, you'll be fine.

This book is so good. I love the characters of Agent Savage and Agent Sherlock. I love books where the character is continued thru the series. I would recommend this book if you love cop stories

I was disappointed in the ending - not enough thrill or excitement. Her other FBI mysteries were much better.

Classic Catherine Coulter story, another in the FBI series. Great story about a strong woman, and the strong man she falls in love with while trying to catch a serial killer.

Interesting storyline and characters. Had a little trouble keeping things straight in the beginning but that may have been my own focus issue. But enjoyed the story.

Another great Sherlock and Savich book partly set in Virginia and partly in DC. Brings in a twist of someone out of their past.

I liked this book but was a bit dissapointed in the ending. It seemed to leave a lot of loose ends. I wrote to Catherine Coulter and she said the newly introduced characters and unresolved storyline will be in her next book to come out June 2007.

I enjoyed this book, typical Coulter fashion. She weaves a variety of characters into the story referencing old other books which is good. I get a bit bored with the dialogue tho', a bit shallow imho, however, it's still worth reading. Especially if you like savich and sherlock

This book starts out with a blast, when agents Savich and Carver are almost killed while trying to save a pop entertainer--Pinky Womack--from kidnappers. But instead of Pinky they are lured into a hotel room boobie trapped with a bomb. Kapow! Boom! the place is incinerated (but no one is killed, weak). The two agents are taunted by the bomber, a mysterious, wacked out villain who doesn't forget. But can they find him before he strikes again. There is also an interesting subplot involving lost treasure and a cave.

The story moves along at a rapid pace that kept me turning the pages, the action is tight, though sometimes her dialog drags. my biggest complaint is the ending which I found weak and unsatisfying. Over all though this is a satisfying thriller for a good Saturday night entertainment.

She never expects to find herself chin-deep in a grisly murder that leaves her nearly dead and rocks the town of Maestro. At a stakeout in Maryland, FBI agents Dillon Savich and Dane Carver are nearly killed in a horrific explosion while attempting to rescue a kidnap victim.THis is the tenth suspense thrilled in the FBI series - good story.

This was a great read. I love the characters of Savich and Sherlock. Moses Grace and Claudia were a really elusive pair of criminals that were a puzzle to try and figure out. That's what makes a good read to me when I am unable to figure out "who done it!" and "why, they done it?"

Great book. I love these FBI thrillers. There was actually two storylines going at the same time in this book. One from another book continuing and a new one. She really writes an excellent book. Very fast paced and exciting.

This series has been going down hill. This was not as bad as the last one, but still not as good as the early books. This book has two plots lines that are never brought together or satisfactorily ended. Lots of loose threads in the main story line.

The 10th and one of the best in the FBI series. A treasure hunting FBI agent, Ruth Warnecki is on the trail of Confederate gold hidden hidden in a cave in western VA. She never expects to find herself involved in a grisly murder that leaves her nearly dead.

The explosive action kicks off as treasure hunting FBI agent Ruth Warnecki is on the trail of stolen Confederate gold hidden in Winkel's Cave in western Virginia. She never expects to find herself chin-deep in a grisly murder that leaves her nearly dead and rocks the town of Maestro.

And as a stakeout in Maryland, FBI agents Dillon Savich and Dane Carver are nearly killed in a horrific explosion while atempting to rescue a kidnap victim, Pinky Womack.

They are led to Arlington National Cemetery where they not only find Pinky, but Savich also takes a fateful call on his cell from an old man out to kill both him and Sherlock. The thing is, they have no clue why. Pitted against an insane killer and his psychotic teenage girl-friend, Savich and Sherlock find themselves fighting a hate-driven villan with a very long and terrifying memory.

Wow, so many twists and turns in this book and one would wonder how it's all going to tie together, OR is it! You'll have to read this thrilling book to find out the answer. Excellent reading material!
