Ah Poirot. Modesty is not your strong suit.

This was a nice grouping of mysteries. Each was distinct, which is something I like about Christie. Especially the Prime Minister, which was much fun. I also enjoyed the heiress who proved the worth of her education. :)

My only problem with them is they were a bit too short. Many of them were quite sudden. Which is an effect of them being short stories, but if there had been one or two fewer stories and some of the others had a bit more breathing room I think it would have been better. (And I really wish Hastings wasn't the narrator. The few Poirot mysteries that don't have him are more pleasant.)

But the plots are all Christie--unique and interesting. The book overall is good, but not something I'm likely to read again. Was not as good as some Christies, though it certainly had a variety. Trade off with shorts--more intrigue, less detail.

You can't go wrong with M. Poirot's little gray cells. Christie was a master of characterization and she outdoes herself with this one.

A good book of short stories.

Ingenious short stories featuring Hercule Poirot; the last is my favorite -- a recounting of the Belgian detective's sole failure. Hastings even comes off well in it, because he isn't in the main story at all, then gets off an excellent one liner to end the collection.

Fun short stories featuring Hercule Poirot. I found some to be more satisfying than others, however. A good read for fans of who-dunits.

One of my favorite Agatha Christie books yet! I thought it was a novel but it turned out to be a collection of short storys, all featuring Hercule Poirot and his friend Captain Hastings. Definitely recommended!

You gotta love Hercule Poirot! His mysteries are thrilling, yet not without some humor.
