I have been monitoring my position in one of my books in my wish list. When I first got on the list I was #4 on the list. Now I am #10. How did others get ahead of me?

From Help Center: Why did I move *backward* on my Wish List? This happens when another member who was "ahead of you" in line previously (and who got an offer of the book already) gets back into line, for one of several reasons:
Please be assured that we would NEVER put another member ahead on the Wish List without good cause--in order to go ahead of others on the Wish List, a member MUST have Wish Listed that item earlier (on an earlier date) than they did. |

That's a long way to move backwards for the reasons Charlie listed though. Usually vacations/canceled transactions could move you back one or two places, not six. Is it possible you put the book on your reminder list and then back on your wish list? That will move you to the end of the line. I've done that -- clicked on +Reminder while looking at the book details and then clicked on +Wish. That's all it takes. |

It was a book that supposedly just went on sale. I heard about it on the radio and wished it that day so it shouldn't have been read already. |

Considering there are 25,889 people with public profiles and probably just as many without them it is plausible that their really were that many vacation holds. |

I can see how many members have wish listed a book, but I can't find my position. Is the number of "members wishing" in fact the number of members who are ahead of me? Thanks, |

Al when your on your WL there will be a grey ! by the listings. Hover your mouse over it and it will say something like 7 of 8 |

I'm curious as to how I received a book that I thought was wishlisted by so many people I thought I might get the book by the end of the year. But I got a message that it's on its way. Not that I'm complaining. Does being on autorequest have anything to do with it? If I got to the top of the line that fast, I wonder if: did book suck and people reposted it before finishing it; or it is really good, and members wanted to share, so reposted asap. Terri - someone could have posted it directly to your WL. This would allow the book to go to you instead of the next person in the WL line. |
