I just got a PM from someone I mailed a book to. She says the book was delivered, with $0.34 postage due.  I've never done printable postage of any sort....I take all my books to the PO in person for postage. How in the world could this have happened?

That's certainly strange!  You actually had the PO weigh it in front of you?  I am unsure how that could have happened, unless it was a book that went first class when it should have gone media mail.

Is the member asking you to pay the difference?

Yea, they weighed it and applied postage and stamped it as media mail!

The member went ahead and paid the $0.34.....she just wanted to let me know....

I had that happen a couple of months ago. What we figured out what happened was that somewhere along the way, a sticker with the zipcode got stuck on the package -----right over the word  "media" and so they said it was first class mail and should pay more when it got to her post office.
