Postage rates go up May 11, but if you buy Forever stamps at $0.42 stamps now, you can use them for $0.44 later.

I usually take books to the post office so they can be weighed, but now I'll be using some Forever stamps on them after May 11 and each stamp will count for more postage.

Can you use forever stamps on anything other than first class?

I thought they were "first class one ounce", rather than being a monetary amount of postage.

At least I was told at our local PO I couldn't put them on media mail packages.

Kayote, the value of the forever stamp is the current rate for first class one ounce, but they can be used on any type of mail at that value.
