I posted a Wish Listed book.  Problem is that for some reason the system posted the book twice, so now I have the book listed twice and two different people (one has RC and one doesn't) that wants the book.  I'm assuming I need to contact R&R to fix the problem...but has anyone else had this happen to them?

I've never had that happen because the system is suppose to only let you post one copy of the book...yes, I would definitely contact TPTB and on one of them do not accept...let it time out if TPTB don't cancel it first....

This happened to me a while ago with wish list book.  I PM the librianan and he said fluke thing - I handled it by sneding PM to 2nd request and let it time out so they go back on #1 WL.  I explained what happened in PM but not sure why happened.  Not really much else you can do except PM them and let it time out so they are next on wish list

If it's a wish list book, and the requests are from two different people, you can cancel one of them. This happens when you double click or hit refresh during posting and it gets submitted twice. The person whose request you decline will just go back on the wish list.

If the requests are from the same person, then you probably shouldn't cancel one of these yourself. That would cause the requestor to be in both an active request and at the front of the wish list and they might end up getting two copies if the book is posted again by somebody else.

That hapened to me once. I think I just canceled the second one, first sending an explanation and abject apology.

To fork the subject a bit, I happen to have two copies of the same book and couldn't figure out how to get two copies of the book on my PBS bookshelf. Is there a way?

Per the Help Center:

"Can I post multiple copies of the same book?
No. We allow a member to Post only one copy of a book at a time."

Cheers,

Catt

This has happened to me twice.  Both times I had hit the Post this Book button in my TBR pile.  For some reason it posted the book twice.  Now I delete the book from by TBR pile and post the old fashioned way to my Bookshelf.
