Maybe I'm just remembering wrong, that's entirely possible. But didn't it used to be that if you posted a book while your account was on hold, that book wouldn't be held? That doesn't seem to happen now.

If it is something that has changed as a default, is it possible to make an individual book available for swapping without taking my account off hold? (I'm out of credits, so I don't want to have to turn down books that are on my WL if I take my whole account off hold in order to post a few that I've finished that are WL books.)

Thanks!

The Help Center sez:  Books newly Posted to your Bookshelf during a Hold will be hidden from requests.  I think it has always been this way.  To answer your question, I believe the answer is no.  I do see your point - if you are out of credits, you want to get more, so you need to post!  It's a dilemma, for sure.  I guess what I would do if you have a WL book is take your account off hold, post it, and use printable postage so you get an instant credit for it.

I think when the new WL comes out you'll be able to hold just your WL.

I hate that you can't do that now. It would make sense and probably move the lines a lot faster ifyou could keep your shelf open and in hopes of getting some credits but put your WL on hold so you don't have to scamble to get one when a WL offer comes.  I always keep a buffer but then I've been really lucky with my shelf. But when I had to make a cross country move last year I had to donate a whole lot of books because I need to put my shelf on hold for a few months. I would have been nice to keep my bookshelf open and send some out but not have WL offers to worry about.  I didn't want new books coming into the house so I would have less to move.
