This is just a gentle reminder that deals should be done on the Book Bazaar forum. Thanks!! |

Yes! This reminder is a great idea. Seems like the forum is overrun with book deals. It's nice to see new members so enthusiastic about their shelf (heck, I'm a newer member myself) but lets keep the forum for discussion. Here's a good tip for newbies too: go thru your posted books and enter descriptions for them. I just type in the synopsis from the back of the book if I can't find it already posted elsewhere online. That way, someone browsing your shelf will be able to know what a book's about before ordering it. |

I don't think anyone is paying attention! I think this is a great idea. There are several things that are clogging up our forum! |
FYI, I will make it a point not to order anything from a person's shelf who posts a deal in this forum. It is so aggravating. This is a discussion forum. There is a reason we have the book bazaar and it is run very well. I don't mind deals being posted in signatures, but don't clog a very good discussion forum by posting deals. |

Keep on Bumping I say...R &R stated the book deals to be in the Book Bazaar! |

Thanks :) I just counted the second page (after I bumped the good posts up), there were 17 "deal" posts. Last Edited on: 7/24/07 6:35 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

Maybe someone should email R&R and ask them to tack this to the top of the board? |
If it gets too out of hand I will, but until then I'll just keep bumping them off the first page lol. |

What about when people are looking for books in this genre? That is a better way to find stuff than ploughing through the whole Bazaar. Margaret |

Yes, looking for a particular book or asking for recomendations and stuff like that is fine. This just isn't the place for pimping your shelf. I am sure they don't realize that it isn't allowed and will get the message soon. until then, just bump the non pimping threads to take the rest to the bottom. Hi Margaret, The thing that started this thread was that there were 17 threads started that people were trying to get their books requested. There has to be some respect for the reguars that frequent this board that this is a discussion forum and not a "selling" forum. When there are 17 posts about someone "selling" their shelf, it puts the discussion topics on the second page. I still would suggest you go to the Book Bazaar and put which book you're requesting in the subject line. You can also click on the Book List button a person's post and it will give their book list. Edited to say that I hope I worded that right, I'm not preaching or putting any one down but this is very vexing lol. Thanks! Last Edited on: 7/25/07 7:09 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

bump From the Help Center: We ask that members give thought to the appropriateness of their topic for the forum in which they post. It works best for everyone if questions are posted in Questions About PaperBackSwap, USPS issues are posted in USPS Postal Regulations, games are confined to Games, etc. Topics advertising your bookshelf should NOT be started in any forum but the Book Bazaar. Keeping "deals" and the like confined to the Book Bazaar not only unclutters the other forums, but also allows members who post deals to be sure that their deal is seen, and members who seek deals to find them. We have created enough forums to allow a place for anything our members might like to discuss. Last Edited on: 7/26/07 10:58 AM ET - Total times edited: 1 |
