I've just noticed that "soft" carriage returns (Shift-Return, as opposed to the Return key, alone) no longer break lines in the posts here. They used to—and were a nice formatting tool, given that hard Returns carry extra line-spacing.

Is there a way to break lines without invoking that extra line-spacing? Why was the functionality of soft returns removed? That was very useful!

Actually, I have never been able to get that to work and I've been a member since May. Been trying it off and on the whole time.
