wow, this book was so suspenseful. Excellent reading. It was one that I couldn't put down. If you haven't read any of Joseph Finder's books, then you are missing out.

While I was reading this book it felt more like I was watching a mediocre action flick rich with testosterone, tough guys with guns. This was my first Joseph Finder, had never heard of him before reading this. Jake Landry, junior executive, attends a retreat with the top officers of a troubled company, Hammond Aerospace Corporation, a last minute replacement. The story focuses on Jake's "turbulent past," which was not really necessary. The beginning was dull and dragged on for too long. It wasn't until Part Two that the plot began to move, about 150 pages into the novel. From there on it was very fast-paced and action-packed. I would only recommend this book if you like books with a lot of action, but it is nothing I would rave about.

I work for a large corporation and found this book very intriguing as it talks about corporate security and banking among other things. I'll read other books by Joseph Finder.

Joseph Finder is among my favorite authors. I loved Power Play and all of his other novels. Can't wait to read the newest one - Buried Alive- released June 2011.

Junior exec goes to high-level executive retreat, the kind where they fall over backwards into the arms of the other attendees. Only, things get a bit tense with his ex-girlfriend there and some bad guys wanting a truck full of money to not kill everybody. Rather standard "isolated and alone" kind of plot, but written pretty well and the hero is likable. Good lunchtime book, which is exactly what it was.
