A really well-written book -- it is not your standard mystery or thriller. It is more of a NOVEL in the literary sense. The story had me mezmerized from the beginning - and I was 20 pages from the end and *still* didn't know what had happened in the "locked room" murder that the book revolves around. Seemingly unrelated incidents are neatly tied together, and while I would like to have seen the punishment aspect of the crime (or was it really a crime?) handled a little differently, this book did not disappoint. It is one to savor as you read; it's not a "fast read." Maybe a little *too* neatly tied up at the end with a minor character suddenly being too critical to the outcome for my taste, but it does all come together and makes sense. The author is true to the different aspects of the various personalities of her characters all the way through. Highly recommended. A-
