This is the first book of his that I've read. I really enjoyed it. You think you know who the bad guy is and then things take a turn.
A good thriller with a surprise ending.
Michael Hrubek escapes from a mental hospital for the criminally insame. His objective is to find Lis Atcheson, the woman who identified him. No one can stop him. Great!!!!
As always, Jeffery Deaver weaves a tale that is hard to put down.
"Superior. A nightmarish 24 hours...twists, turns, and harrowing suspense."
praying for revenge.... murderer michael hrubek has escaped. he's finally free. and he'll show them all, especially the woman who put him away. she called him a killer. he'll show her what killing is all about.
praying for salvation.. lis atcheson knows he's out there- the man who killed two of her students. he's haunted every sleepless night following her testimony. now the nightmares are coming true. he's watching.. and waiting.. and he's going take lis to hell with him.
This is an earlier book of Deaver's, originally published under a pseudonym. I was surprised that he wrote other books under a different name and was not sure this one would live up to his usual standard. The plot is less complicated and the characters less developed than those novels written under his real name; in fact, I have to admit that I suspected the outcome well before I was finished with the book. However, I still enjoyed the book and would recommend it to Jeffery Deaver fans.
