Really bad metaphors ("the jury swallowed ... the testimony like Sunday morning Gospel"), hackneyed plot (former DA is a drunk and is redeemed; good guys are bad guys; bad guys are good guys) and crappy writing. But, if you can ignore all that, still a fun read for a lonely Saturday night or a short rail commute.

This was a great book. I love the characters. The plot twists that Bill Blum put in here were great. This was exciting and fast paced.
