Author: Hugh Holton
Hugh Holton has an amazing wide ranging imagination. The resulting work shows what would happen if Joseph Wambaugh joined forces with Wilkie Collins -- a scrupulous insider's knowledge of police work combined with highly visual effects.

This started out as an interesting mix of police procedural with horror story, but rapidly devolved into a first-novel mishmash of characters with unexplained motivations, bad guys getting the upper hand over good guys with no explanation of how it happened, and a Head Villain who disappears in one scene and whose "mummified" corpse appears hours later.
