I liked this book so much that I requested it as a bookclub selection. I read another book by Ms.Carey and it was wonderful. This book makes yo think what would you do if you could have your freedom from slavery.....is it worth the price of your infant child?

I enjoyed this book. It was serious, but there was humour in it as well. The ending made me wonder if there will be a sequel...?

A deeply engrossing story of slavery and the costs and sacrifices to be free.
