This book by a British author was recommended to me by a PBS Friend, and I am so glad she did! This was such an enjoyable read! Sarah, her husband and 3 children recently moved from the bustle of London to the far more sedate market town of Barcombe. That move brings Sarah into the path of Pierre Prescott, a local doctor with a roving eye and husband of Claudia Prescott, a teacher at her daughter's new school. Linking the all the characters together is Hilary, a single mother and free spirited artist. The characterizations are wonderful, the situations believable and there is a lot of wisdom and wit in this exploration of growing up, growing old, being a child and being a parent. This is an author whose books I will seek out based on my enjoyment of this book!
