Wow. Looking back at all the stories that I have written in my time, I realize that I'm a pretty depressing person... Oh, well. This story is kinda based on a poem that I wrote a couple of years ago when my friend asked me if I could write about what it felt like to cut yourself. I personally have never tried that, and never plan to, but she wanted to see if I could replicate the feeling. She thought that it was amazing and looking back at it I thought I could use the stanzas to create a storyline almost. Here goes.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-Prologue-
Closing your eyes
Dreaming, sleeping
Life flashing by
Worlds ending
Ancient wisdom whispered to you

With bloodshot eyes
And a fear of life
Time begins to move again
Dreaming ends
And life begins

Take out your blade
Cut, with sweet release
Your hunger leads you back
To the place where
All things are reality

Dying, slowly, dying
Worlds, life, you
Blood flowing
Sweet metallic smell
Releasing you from reality

The Iron Kiss
The Embrace of Death
Sweet romance of Pain
The Land of Emptiness
The place where dreams never end

Welcome to your Psychotic Dreams

"Closing your eyes

Life flashing by
Worlds ending
Ancient wisdom whispered to you"

Nick paused his advance. It was clear that nothing would come of it. She was not of his league. Turning on his heel, he fled the building. Once he was sure he was alone, he slowed and headed for his house. He hated it there more than the place he had fled, but there was nothing he could do to change it.

Safely locked in his room, he gave in and let them free. The voices that whispered to him, telling him of innumerable things. Nick inhaled the sweet scent of the opiate, then took out his kit. Carrying his small implements of torture and terror with him helped, for he knew that with the things they became and showed him after, he would be powerful and wise.

Ever so slowly he filled the emptyness within one of his items, with the liquid from the vial that he always kept safe around his neck. It was his time to shine. Bright as the needle he held in his hand.

When she woke up, Kaeleigh knew that something was wrong. She did not recognize her surroundings, much less the people who lay next to her. Her clothes were missing and Joy was nowhere to be found.

Kaeleigh felt betrayed and alone, and she saw a bottle lying within reach. She did not reach for it however as it was the reason that she was there in the first place.
Instead Kaeleigh slowly stood, swaying, head aching, and headed for help. The kind that came in a bathroom, cold water and pills.

At the mirror she decided that it wasn't worth it anymore. This wasn't the first time, and it wouldn't be the last unless she stopped herself. These kinds of things happened all the time now.

Shaking the container, she made sure that there was enough in it to do what she planned.

Alright. Sorry that it is taking so long to finish this story, I really need to, but I can not find the rough draft, and I hate finishing a story differently than I originally planned to.... I'm trying though, and I promise I will finish this soon.
