Public Library and Other Stories by Ali Smith is a collection of short stories alternating with individuals giving their odes to the public library. The common thread between the stories is not libraries or books but rather language. The sections in between are essentially expressions of love for public libraries. From the title, it takes some re-adjusting to what this book is actually about. An unusual approach to the subject, but it works.
