I like the book very much. I could read this book over and over. It had mystery, drama, thrills and romance.

England 1663. A viscount is required to marry. His bride is a young Puritan girl. Their divergent attitudes make for entertaining reading.
Very good story! I can't put the book down.
A romance set in Jing Charles' Restoration Court.
Puritan Katherine Huxley must marry the cynical Viscount Marlbrooke to satisfy their claims on one property.

"The games at the Restoration Court of king Charles have turned Marcus, Viscount Marlbrooke, into a cynic. While he doesn't believe that love lies within matrimony, he does need to secure his claim to Winteringham Priory.
Marriage to the spirited Puritan Katherine Harley is the key and, given his unexpected response to her, perhaps their marriage needn't be as bleak as he fears. Because, beneath her solemn exterior, he senses a bride of surprising passion. . . "

This book was published in 2005, but it holds up very well. I don't know why more historicals are not set during the Restoration, when heroes could have long, luxurious curls and wear lace and red high heels. The plot involves an arranged marriage between two families who were enemies in the recent civil war(her family is Puritan, his are Royalists). There is plenty of drama, with the heroine having amnesia, a ghost, witchcraft, murder, and swordplay. I liked both main characters but the flamboyant and romantic hero pretty much stole the show.
