First book I've read by this author. Explores relationships, some of which are not as they appear. Kept me turning the pages to find out what would happen. This was a selection of the book of the month, the literary guild, and the doubleday book club.

This was a good book written by an author I had not read before. It held my attention and there were times I did not want to put it down. Melanie and Grace grew up in a home devoid of love and attention. The housekeeper became their pseudo mom. Now they are grown women with families of their own. Their parent's death leads to the unveiling of secrets and revelations as to why they lived the way they did.
