THE PYROMANIAC'S COOKBOOK
Are you saying to yourself "Is this a joke?!"
No, it isn't. Well, maybe the author is making a joke in order to make a point?
We go on day after day eating food that may be good and may even be good for us, but he may be asking "Is it exciting?", "Is it fun?", "Can your dish be seen from outer space?"
And he may be sayiing "If the answer to the last is no, do I have a cookbook for you!"
The thing is, this isn't a joke cookbook, it's quite serious, with some wonderful recipes and some great ideas about and for entertaining. If you are competent in the kitchen and can light a match or have a stick lighter, you can do this. Pay attention to Poister's instructions though. And you might do a little practice by flaming a tiny bit of brandy or vodka in an empty saute pan before doing it with real food in front of the whole family at Christmas dinner.
First in the contents:
How to flame simply and safely.
Good advice for everyone, even those who aren't novices.
The rest of the contents:
Casual Conflagrations
Flaming Feasts in the Great Tradition
Incandescent Cocktails and Matchless Coolers
Hot to Fire Up the Pantry
Light up the Sky!
The Fiery Finish (desserts!)
Twenty-six Sure-Fire Ways to Fix Coffee
A Glossary of Flambe Fuels (more types of booze than I knew existed!)
Index
270 pages of recipes
21 pages of fancy coffee recipes
15 pages on liqueurs, whiskeys and etc.
8 pages of index
318 total pages
The book is unused and in AAA condition.
