Sheba ruled about 950 BCE and records from this time are sparse. Historians think Sheba may have been the queen of Ethiopia or Yemen. The author has patched together information from Ethiopian, Islamic and Old Testament sources to present this story. It is unknown if this person (Queen of Sheba) was real or not. I appreciate the fact that the author researched this enough to put together this story for us to enjoy. Whether it is true or not, it is part of our history (via the Bible).

She was a young queen in a land that usually only respected a king. All reports indicate that this young queen was bold, wise, and fearless. When she heard stories from traders about Solomon, the king of Israel, being wise beyond compare, she decided to go there.

We only have an incomplete story. It may be the truth or it might be a myth. Either way, it is a fascinating story. Her story is regularly retold in film and television.  Examples: Gina Lollobrigida in Soloman and Sheba (1959) in film. Amani Zain in Queen of Sheba: Behind the Myth (2002) - on television. The opera Solomon and Balkis (1942), by Randall Thompson.
