WHEN I WAS IN SCHOOL (A LONG TIME AGO) I WAS TAUGHT WHEN LISTING, FILING, ETC. TO IGNORE THE "A' AND 'THE'. IN OTHER WORDS, THE WILD CHILD WOULD BE LISTED UNDER 'W'. I'VE NOTICED IN MY BOOKSHELF THAT IF I POSTED 'THE WILD CHILD', IT WOULD BE UNDER THE 'Ts' THAT MAKES FOR A LOT OF As AND THEs. SHOULD I POST 'WILD CHILD, THE', IGNORE 'THE' AND POST 'WILD CHILD' OR CONTINUE THE WAY I AM GOING AND QUIT MAKING SO MUCH OUT OF THIS! :O) GIVE ME SOME SUGGESTIONS, PLEASE. WHAT DO YOU DO? |

If you list your book by typing in the ISBN, the system takes care of the title for you, so you needn't worry over that. If you are having to enter information for a book with no ISBN, type the title as it reads on the front of the book: "The Wild Child" or "The Wild Child: Tales from a Renegade Adolescent" Hope this helps, take a deep breath, calm down, and welcome! Charlotte, don't type in all caps-it looks like you are "yelling". |

Sorry, patti, but the regular way looks so small. I do know capts is usually yelling. The postings I mean are the ones w/o IBSNs. Guess I won't worry about it. |

Hi Char. I think that there is a known problem with alphabetisation in this way affecting some items in the database--others have reported this also and have said that they were told a fix is planned, but it will take time to do (the whole site has to be taken down for some reason to do this). So don't worry too much about it for now--people will still find the books when they search for them, and it'll get corrected so your bookshelf alphabetises properly at some point in the future. :) |

Thanks, Liese, I just wondered. BTW, didn't mean to offend anyone with the capitals; I'm 70 and my eyesight isn't as good as it used to be! LOL |

It's funny how it does look like yelling. I mean, it's only caps, but whenever I see them on the internet I think, Man, this person is stressed out. ROFL. Certainly no offence taken here. Last Edited on: 8/10/07 3:59 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |
