I have only had a few book requests so far and havent had any with conditions but I have a question. If someone says they do not want a book from a smoking home does that mean if you smoke inside your house or if you smoke at all period? What I mean is that I smoke but I do not smoke in my house at all, I dont smoke anywhere near the books so would my home be considered smoking or not?

I err on the side of caution. I dont smoke anymore but my mother and husband do. They dont smoke anywhere near my books but since they are in the house I consider it a smoking household.

I don't smoke, but I don't accept any RC's about smoking any longer. I recently had a RC that said, (paraphrased) No books from heavy smokers. I sent the book, because, as I said, I don't smoke. At I had bought the book new from Amazon, and kept it stored in a plastic bin under my bed and run air filters in my room 24/7. Either someone down the line in the postal service smoked, or the book absorbed the smoke from my mother's clothing as she smokes and does visit me for brief moments here and there (through a plastic bin and via air filters), as the person who requested the book said she had to throw it away, it reeked so badly. At the time it happened, I thought it had to be the postal clerk (hers, perhaps?) but never thought of my mother at the time (for the record, my mother comes in my room maybe once a week, for less than a minute, and she does not smoke in my room.).

Anyway, to err on the side of caution, Dawn, I'd decline, as you do smoke. Just to be on the safe side.

I think you should decline all smoking conditions.

As someone who has a "no smoking" condition I would say please decline.  Most of the books I order are for my son, who has a hypersensitive nose, and the slightest smell would be too much for him, so I would advise declining.

If the reader of the book, or anyone in the household around the book smoked, I'd want it declined for me.
