What happens when you sent a person a book and it is not being marked as received and their account now says "hold"?  Do you just have to wait until they eventually mark it received even if pbs marks it as lost?  Funny thing, this is one of the first times I have ever not used DC!   lol, oh well!  I just hope it gets there safe.  It was brand new and has lots of life left in it.

Thanks for your help!

From Help Center:

If a book you sent hasn't been marked received yet...

A book sent to an active member at PBS will not earn credit until the requestor marks it received, unless PBS Delivery Confirmation is used to send the book.   The average time in transit at PBS is 9 days, which includes books mailed to or from addresses outside the continental U.S.

If your book has been longer than 2 weeks in transit, and has not been marked received:

  • Remember that the requestor may be away from home and unaware if the book has arrived.

  • If this is the case, he or she can mark it received when he or she returns home.

    • If the book transaction is still active, he or she can mark it received from the En Route to Me tab in My Account.
    • If the book has been declared Lost in the Mail, it can be marked received from the requestor's Transaction Archive
  • If you want to discuss the book, you can contact the requestor using the button on the transaction on the Books I've Mailed tab in My Account.

If PBS marks it as lost hopefully  the person will go to their Transactions link and mark it as received if it does show up!

Sometimes people hold their acc'ts because they can't afford to send more books out for a while (or other reasons other than going away), but they're still around.  Why don't you try sending them a friendly PM?  My acc't is on hold right now because I can't afford to send out more books, but I still check in every day.

Good luck!  It's very frustrating when you send out a nice book and it goes lost!
