I just did a 2-for-1 deal.  Someone ordered 5 of my books off my shelf (and I included 5 more).  I paid with PBS Postage and mailed all 5 shelf orders as one package (including the 5 freebies).  I marked "books have been mailed" and instead of getting 5 quick credits, I only got one.

Has anyone else experienced this system bug?  Shouldn't ALL the credits come through when a package of books has been marked as sent?

it always seems to work that way. I think the only way to get credit for all would have been to split them up.

Actually, if it *was* a bulk request (not a bunch of single orders) then it should have generated all of the credits.

This is from the Help Center about using PBS-DC:

Will a multiple-book (bulk) shipment sent with PBS-DC get Quick Credits for all the books? Yes, if the wrapper is printed with the PBS-DC barcode as a "bulk wrapper".   Since Delivery Confirmation is charged per piece, and not by weight, you need only use ONE barcode (costing $0.27 in PBS Money) to send a bulk shipment, and need add only 18 cents to the postage, no matter how much the package weighs. The single PBS-DC barcode will contain information for all the books in a bulk shipment ONLY if the requests have been linked together by the requestor clicking and submitting them as a bulk request.

  • If the requestor submits the requests as multiple individual requests, these cannot be linked together after the fact.
  • If this is the case, you will get 1 QuickCredit, and the rest of the books in the shipment will earn credits when they are marked received.

You should not split the bulk request if you want to get all of your QuickCredits.

  • If you click button on the request before the barcode is scanned, you will "split off" the extra QuickCredits, and the barcode you have used will earn only 1 QuickCredit when it is scanned.
  • In this case, the other books will earn credits when they are marked received.
  • The only reason to split a bulk request is to cancel one or more of the books in the shipment.

This is from the Help Center about Printing Postage w/ DC:

What if I send multiple books?  How does that work?
  • If more than one book is requested at once in the form of a bulk request, the Wrapper Settings page will have the database estimate for all of the books in the shipment.  (As always, you can adjust this weight estimate, and thereby adjust the postage that will print out.)
  • You will get Instant Credits for all books in a bulk shipment if the bulk shipment is sent with Printed Postage--as soon as you mark the shipment mailed, you will get the credits for all the books.
  • If you get multiple individual requests from the same member (not submitted as a bulk request), you can always adjust the weight of the package on one Wrapper Settings page from one of the requests to get proper postage to send all of the books using that wrapper, but of course, you will get Instant Credit ONLY for the book(s) listed on the wrapper you print out.  You will get credit for any other books in the shipment when they are marked received by the requestor.

With the new "instant credit" I am experiencing the same thing. I've had a couple of multi-book (and yes, it WAS a bulk order, kept together) orders now, and each time, when I marked it mailed, only one INSTANT credit came up. This has nothing to do with the DC scan....that still works just fine for getting all the credits in a multi-book order. It's with the instant credit you get as soon as you mark a book mailed that's got the PBS DC *with* the online printed postage. There's nothing yet in the Help Center that I can find that addresses this with the new "Instant" credit you get with the PBS online postage.

I'm not sure if it's a glitch that they intend to fix or if we'll just have to wait for the DC scan to get the rest of the credits or what. I guess I will report this to R&R. I had asked in another thread if anyone else had it happen and reported it yet. Maybe this is the way they intend it to stay, I don't know. Once the packages get scanned somewhere, we should get those other credits, though. Or (of course) when the member marks it received. So far neither of these 2-book orders of mine has been scanned anywhere, so I can't say whether the second credit came through or not, but I'm watching closely.

It was a bug that is now fixed. You should also have received any missing credits.
