Just read the sad news that James Arness aka "Matt Dillon" of Gunsmoke fame died today. The show was a classic as were James Arness and the other long time actors on the show.

Trivia: James' younger brother is Peter Graves. It was Peter who was being considered for the role of "Matt Dillion." However, after co-staring in the movie Stalag 17, Peter was considerd "too German" for the role of "Matt Dillion."
