Its mot about the book, its about education and how to make it relevant. By cataloging the folklore of the Southwest ,J Frank Dobie was showing the importance of regional education . A student needs to learn how to observe the things around him so that his life will have depth. In that respect one has to look at his work as whole to appreciate it. All of his books are a path to treasure, even the ones about real lost treasures.
