WARNING: Review and book contain triggering material.

I wanted to like this book. The summary blurb and the opening were intriguing and set up a very strong female lead and an interesting set of circumstances. Unfortunately, early on in the book Ms Green start the hero and heroine down a very off-putting and dated "romantic" path. Not only does the hero rape the heroine, he then uses telepathic control to coerce her into further sexual encounters in order to 'show her that she would enjoy it'.

If you can get past that, the actual action, fight against oppression part of the plot is well done, but I certainly wouldn't recommend this book to anyone and I'd be leery about picking up any other books by Ms Green.
