I got an email today saying that my wish list book request had expired, since I did not click on it within the 48 hour period.  Thing is, I never received an email telling me it was available.  And yes, I checked my spam folder too :)  Does this happen a lot?  Book is still available, so no harm, no foul, but if it was something that was in high demand I would have been out of luck.

Pat, I can't say it's never happened to me, because I check in here most days and don't always look at email until evening, so might not realize there was no email for a book I'd already accepted.  BUT, I have been here since 2006, and have never missed one 'to my knowledge'.  So I'd have to say, no, it doesn't happen often...

No, not often, but I have had it happen several times when I was traveling.  I had activity to prove that I had been on the site within 48 hours, but the WL offers weren't there when I looked and even after checking again 24-40 hours later, they still weren't there so I did miss out. Now I ALWAYS put my shelf on vaca hold, then if I do get on the site at the hotel, I can remove the hold while I take care of business, then put it back on hold before traveling again the next day.

My wish list says I have 2, but I can't figure out how to get them.  I clicked on the book, but couldn't find any member offering it.
