A young princess is to be married to a man who lives far away. She wishes that she could take something from her home. Her maid helps her smuggle silkworms and mulberry seeds out when she leaves.

Why I recommend it: The princess is so not wanting to leave, but she does manage to take silk with her. It's a good book for a history lesson about China.
