In Tom Clancy's Red Rabbit, the Soviet Union is anticipating new leadership and contemplating a move that they think will strengthen their hold on power. Red Rabbit is a suspenseful Cold War thriller that harkens back to the time of President Ronald Reagan, Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, and The Iron Curtain. It is a well-written, well-researched blast from the past, and full of page-turning tension. The style of writing is different than it is today, and Clancy is too verbose, but it is still eye-opening, entertaining, and valuable. There is some unnecessary language, and some of the details are a bit gory. Nonetheless, I enjoyed Red Rabbit, and I am looking forward to reading the next Tom Clancy thriller.
