Having read hundreds of mysteries, I was thinking this might wind up being one of the very few I gave up on before the end. But I am glad I didn't. There are parts that are confusing and misleading (as a mystery should be), but it's all wrapped up in the end satisfactorily. A little too long and introspective on the narrator's part, but the end justified the means in this case.
