One of Wentworth's stand alone novels written in 1935. It's basically a post-World War I spy novel wrapped around a romance where the main characters are trying to escape from Communist Russia. Initially it dragged, but I was soon caught up it, as the protagonists assumed various roles and identities in their escape.

It includes all the popular cliches : hidden passageways, secret formulas, hidden jewels, sleigh rides in the freezing cold while being chased by wolves, a love triangle, and more.
