Worried when her young son Aaron disappears, widowed ranch owner Maggie Ketchum phones the sheriff. Deputy Daniel Redwing takes the call and finds the boy, earning Maggie's gratitude—and Aaron's hero worship. Soon, Daniel gets past Maggie's defenses too. But though attracted to him, she doesn't intend to become Redwing's Lady in any permanent way—she's too frightened of losing him to commit.
