This is no longer happening on my acct.

  • When your Wish List book arrives and you mark it received:
    • The system will offer to remove all alternate (linked) ISBNs of that title from your Wish List
    • This will be done automatically unless you uncheck the box under this option when you mark the book received

Has this function been removed or is it just me?  Any suggestions?  I can't seem to find it under my settings.

Thanks, bookreadera

It's still there, but it rarely works. The problem is that most of the "duplicate" books on my wish list don't have the exact same title and author. Only the exact matches are recognized as similar items.

For example, I have these two books on my wish list. If I get one, the system will not offer to remove the other:

Electric Blue :: Nancy Bush

Electric Blue: A Jane Kelly Mystery :: Nancy Bush

Of course they are the same book and I wouldn't want both, so I will go and remove the other one manually should either of them ever appear in my mailbox.

Ms Meghan- I just got a book that was an alternate version from one on my wish list. The system alerted me about the book that I ordered was available and similar to a book on my wish list. The system asked me if I wanted to remove the version on my wish list. But I also recently got a book that was on my wish list, I had several version of the same title wish listed, that did not ask me if I wanted to remove any of the other versions on my wish list. So maybe the alert only happens if the books are linked together as similar titles.

Nope, doesn't work on mine either. I've received several wishlisted books and it's never popped up.

I'm glad it's not just me!  For my wishlist, the feature works just often enough that I think I've gotten everything off, and then, BAM!  I get an autorequested book that I already have.  I will have to remember to be more vigilant about my wishlist in the future...

I marked a book received today and I got that message saying the other version would be removed unless I unchecked the box. I unchecked it because the alternate version includes a CD and I'm holding out hope that some will post it.

But, it isn't always accurate. I got that message when I received a Cooking Light annual cookbook  - the system wanted to remove another year that I had wishlisted. I don't think so!!

There are many times that I take a paperback while waiting for the hardback. If I have to go back and add it, then I lose my place in line.
