Daphne is probably my favorite female author. Her topics range from romance to mystery to horror. This collection of short stories are superb...I particularly liked "The Rendezvous' and "No Motive".
Daphne seems to be able to capture the complex, sometimes tense relationship between men and women. She is a master of the irony and suspense.
Although a British author, the vocabulary is only an occasional distraction for the American reader. The writing is impressive. Her best works would truly qualify as "literature".
