This is a great book about some extraordinary men. The South Bronx was the busiest in fire alarms and very dangerous. The book reads fast and I hated for it to end. Anyone that knows a firefighter or wants to be one will find this a great read.
I may be partial, my grandfather worked in Eng.82 with Dennis Smith. It is as I hear him telling me about the job.
