I don't see why weight and dimensions (if they've been entered) shouldn't show on a book's detailed-info page.

Granted, part of why I'm interested is because I'm trying to make sure all the books on my shelf and TBR pile *have* weights and dimensions, and to find out whether they do or not I'm having to go into 'Edit Book Info' for every single title and look.

Still, it's information that many people might find useful -- people who can't hold heavy books, or who want to know what the dimensions on a hardcover are, for example.

I think maybe the dimensions we enter in the book data are for calculating an estimation on shipping.  I can see your point though.  Might be nice for some...but don't know just how many would use that part of the info.  ??

Slighty-related puzzlement/rant:

I'm puzzled by the reason we have to enter dimensions for an ISBN not in the DB, when these don't display later, for any book.  Maybe they are needed internally for comparison with other data, or to help decide what binding should be selected.

Amanda: It would help with some books that are very small, so the orderer has a better idea what they're getting. Some children's books are very small-format, and I got a couple of 'poems of Wordsworth' and the like books that are about 4" by 3", by less than 1/4" thick -- not what I was expecting! It's what I ordered, though, so fair enough, but I'd still want to know first.

I have had the same experience. Sometime the book is VERY much smaller than I expected. For the first few I thought "I have GOT to learn to read the dimensions!" Once I finally started "remembering" I realized they weren't shown.
