Ok, got the newsletter and this was at the bottom

"also, the currently absolutely most-requested feature at PBS may become a reality...Shhh, the Founders are working..."

Since I see a lot of requests bantered about, will you please clue me? :)

Probably listing the number of books in the system for a particular title OR where your book stands in the FIFO line...is your copy the 15th one in line.

I was wondering, too.

Those features would be nice. :)

I think they're actually working on starting a DVD swapping site!  They've gotten lots of requests for that and it's in the works.

I second "Where am I in FIFO?" and "How many copies in the system?".  I'd also think that "Sort the WL by number in line" would be up there based on message board threads.

They mentioned the DVD project right before this quote.

I would be surprised if they actually told you where you were in the FIFO line. For example if I was a newbie and saw my book was 50 in the FIFO, I wouldn't post it. I would be too new to realize that the books do move fast. I think it would cut down on the number of books posted. But thats just me. *shrug*

If they do show the quantity of books posted, I hope that they include a typical requests-per-week number as well. If a book has 300 in the system, but 15 are requested per week, that's only a 20-week wait. Not nearly as intimidating as just seeing that huge number of books....

Isn't the most requested feature the ability to buy and print postage from PBS?

Why am I not getting the newsletter?!  I supposedly subscribe to it!  Also, I'll subscribe to a topic and will only get notices for about 24 hours and then it all stops.  ????

Weird....when I post a reply on Mozilla.... nothing appears in the text box. Trying again on Internet Explorer - ARRGGH!

How about notification by email when a title by a particular author is posted?  I am trying to get books by Philip K. Dick for my son.  This author was prolific and wrote in the '50's & '60's I believe.  Tons of sci fi books and short stories.  So many, with so many editions that it is impossible to list them all on my wish list.  BUT if I could receive notice when a book by him is posted, that would make it a lot easier.  As it is now, finding a title by him is completely hit or miss - I search his name several times a week, sometimes several times a day.  Mostly there is nothing posted, but once in a while I get lucky and find another title posted.

I don't think it's the DVD site, since that wouldn't be a "feature at PBS". I was thinking of the in-active accounts, but that wouldn't be a feature that I would think of being described that way. I'd almost bet on the sortability issue, but it could be a DOZEN highly wished for things! hahahaha

Off Topic to Peggy, have you added those books on the reminder list, if they have ISBNs?  And maybe you've tried, but there is a "I'm looking for " thread.

On topic, I like that idea.  I think that the WL is going to be expanded, so you could put all the versions on your wishlist.
