the book takes you into a squad room that are trying to solve cold cases - the detectives are also trying to fight budget cuts - the author takes you into the internal politics of the nypd - how the cold case unit was formed and how some are trying to dismantle it - how evidence is not properly catalogued and/or not stored properly - with witnesses that are deceased or have moved away or simpy dont remember details - my only compliant i wish it was longer and featured more cases - it could have been another 100 pages and still have been a fast read
