Impressive how one picture can lead to such deep theology. Nouwen takes each character from the parable and explores how they are represented in the picture and how their brokenness is lived out in our lives. I found that I resonated with much of what he wrote. While he uses his own life for examples he taps into common sins and problems.

Like all theology books it is not a light read. However, it is more accessible than most
