This is an adaptation from the Jungle Book written by Rudyard Kipling. It has nice illustrations and chapters. It is the first book in a series about Rikki-tikki-tavi and covers how Rikki-tikki-tavi loses his first home with his family, is discovered by Teddy, and then becomes a member of his family. It shows Rikki-tikki-tavi rescuing Teddy for the first time.
