This is an interesting book about the "end of the world" or "apocalypse". The world was running out of water and in order to get rain they found and destroyed an ice comet, guiding the debris to circle the earth and slowly enter the atmosphere. Unfortunately they mis-gaged it and too much water came. It flooded the earth (or most of it), trapping people on little islands left of the tops of mountains.
It contains cannibalism and murder, theft and a survival of the fittest mentality that is truly Darwinistic. I really enjoyed it when I was in the eighth grade.
