This is my first Ridley Pearson novel. I liked the strong protagonists and the way they play off one another. Since they are the opposite sex, there is a little sexual tension here and there - elusive but there. I also liked the brother character. He shows the soft, caring side of our hero. Not sure how I felt about the setting. Just being in China made for a convoluted story for a westerner. Good story, though. I would give it a 3.5 and I am going on to the next one and might check out one of his other series. The end left me wondering if he really could fix his brother's "boo boo." Maybe Grace can do it for him. I hope Pearson will let the readers know in the next book how that turned out as his brother continues to rack up high medical bills that must be paid.

I was disappointed in how this book went on and on seeming without any end. In addition, when introducing the forensic accountant, she is described as being Chinese army trained as well as the equivalent of special forces, yet she can't shoot a gun, fight hand-to-hand, nor any other special skills. Just a total let down story that should have quit half-way through.

Another great book by this amazing author. I was very impressed with the level of research Pearson must have done to make this tale suspend my disbelief so thoroughly. I wondered how he would bring the myriad details to conclusion, but I was certainly not disappointed. Worth the read or listen!
